The Project

This project involved a recently painted vessel introduced to us via the project manager at MB92.

The yacht was experiencing light paint oxidation intermittently across the structure and although this could only be seen on close inspection it still posed cause for concern.

Both the manufacturer and the applicator were contacted and could find no reason for this.

At this point the MB92 project manager asked SeaSkin to step in. Our brief was to treat the affected areas and ensure that the treatments blended in seamlessly to the surrounding paintwork. It was vital that this could be done without the need for a new re-spray.

Our Solution

Our team analysed the areas and based on our findings we could treat the areas with our pre-treatment application fluid. This removed the oxidation and prepared the area for long term protection.

Our next step was to protect these areas and ensure that the problem did not return. To do this we used A-Glaze which leaves a microscopic enevelope of protection across the surface and gives long lasting protection from the causes of oxidisation and day to day wear.

Result

In total the SeaSkin team treated over 140m2 of the superstructure spread across multiple locations.

The oxidisation problem was solved and the treated areas blended in seamlessly to the surrounding areas negating the need for an expensive and time consuming respray.
